The Brief
Jacqueline (owner of Edinburgh CBT) offers cognitive behavioural therapy and counselling services to help people improve their mental health and well-being.
She reached out to us because she was feeling stuck with her Wix website. Jacqueline tried to make changes herself, but things just weren’t working out for her. Layouts were not in the right place and the text didn’t look the way she wanted. It was frustrating for her and she knew the website did not reflect the professional, welcoming vibe she wanted for her business.
Jacqueline also wanted some expert advice on how to improve her site to get more enquiries and show people how Edinburgh CBT can support them.
She needed a helping hand to get her website back on track, and that's where we came in.

PHASE 1
Website analysis and design
Using the Wix dashboard, we were able to analyse where the gaps were with the website pages. For example, we looked into the number of visits per page, where the traffic came from and the visitor behaviour once they were on the website. This gave us a greater understanding, where we were able to provide recommendations that were not subjective but factual - which guaranteed an improvement to Jacqueline's website.
What We Did:
We noticed that Jacqueline's unique selling points were buried in the old site, so we gave them the spotlight! To emphasise these key sections, we added a darker green accent colour to her website, which brought a much needed depth and contrast. This not only provided variation but also helped from an accessibility perspective. We also changed the colour of her paragraph text to black, as the previous light grey on a white background was difficult to read.
To mirror the strengths and personality of her logo, we used rounded edges for buttons, image frames and outlines where necessary. This also ensured her branding remained consistent across the site as we drew inspiration from her logo and incorporated similar imagery sitewide. We used relevant, eye-catching graphics to make her strengths stand out, bring areas of isolated text and images together and show potential customers why they should choose Edinburgh CBT.
Once the pages were finalised and approved, we restructured the menu to help the navigation of her site flow effortlessly. This included adding each of her services as a drop-down.
By focusing on her ‘safe space’ and accreditations, we ensured that we educated and welcomed new visitors.

PHASE 2
Responsiveness & SEO
We needed Jacqueline’s site to look fantastic on any device, so we optimised and made sure her new site was compatible with all devices, from desktop to mobile phones.
To boost her visibility on search engines like Google, we carried out the initial Wix SEO Setup Checklist, ensuring all images included descriptive alt text and each page had optimised meta descriptions throughout all pages. We also structured the site for optimal readability, correctly formatting headings and body text to follow a logical flow. Once the design was approved, we indexed the pages to ensure they appeared on Google.

PHASE 3
AI Chatbot
One of the first things Jacqueline asked for was a chatbot. She wanted something interactive and personable that could help visitors get quick answers without having to pick up the phone. Of course, we made it happen, keeping costs as low as possible along the way.
We explored a few different chatbot options and landed on Tolstoy because it offered the most flexibility and allowed us to add custom videos (and free to use). To make the experience feel even more personal, we created short FAQ videos using Canvaand included Jacqueline's voice for that extra friendly and personalised touch. We then set everything up in Tolstoy, adding buttons and links to make the chatbot as easy and intuitive as possible. It turns out that it was a great choice, and it’s now getting an impressive 75% interaction rate!
Once everything was ready, we placed the chatbot on the website in a way that made it accessible without getting in the way of other content. We also made sure visitors could seamlessly switch from the chatbot to Jacqueline’s contact details, making it easy for people to reach out when they’re ready.
